What wisdom is your heart wanting to share with you today?
Are you giving yourSelf space to drop into your essence, your centre, your own deep love?
Is there a whisper calling to you?
How are you feeling?
I want to know how you are truuuuly feeling...
What inside that deep beautiful soul is trying to be expressed?
What emotions are locked up and needing a release?
What joy and sacredness and love and pleasure are you hiding away from being embodied?
Is there something is this moment you would rather be doing?
Why aren’t you doing it?
What is holding you back from living how you truly want to?
Is there a smile that needs to be shared?
Maybe a tear that needs to be shed?
Do you need to tell someone how you deeply feel?
Do you need to tell yourself how you deeply feel?
Where is your passion?
Where is your purpose?
What are you practicing?
What are you learning?
How are you creating?
How are you breathing?
Who are you loving?
Who are you becoming?
When are you going to allow yourself to be YOU?
When are you going to start doing exactly what you love?
When are you going to be honest with the howling call of your soul?
When are you going to surrender to your path?
When are you going to trust you will be held?
These are essential questions I ask myself everyday. Each and everyday is devoted to diving beneath the surface of my being to see and feel what is really going on. Doing the inner work, traversing the shadows and the uncomfortable spaces. Having the courage and the strength to go into these places isn't always easy, and it doesn't become a daily ritual overnight. What I am realizing in life these days is a fruition of years of devoted self work. Devoted practice. Devoted service to the heart. Devoted presence with my emotions. What used to seem hard and challenging, has become second nature, has become as swift as the breath coming in and out of the body. But I tell you, it is not an easy place to get to. And it still is not easy.
Everyday comes with the challenge to rise. To rise up and join my higher Self, rise into the space of pure love within the heart, rise into total commitment. Somedays it feels a lot easier to sink into old ways of being. I was sad for most of my life, unconsciously of course. I was sad up until I realized I didn't want to carry that weight anymore. But the challenge now is make the move everyday into my joy. When we exist within an emotion or way of living for most of our life, it becomes very comfortable. We get used to feeling a certain way, or living within certain habits. But when the dawn comes to let that way of existing go, we take on the challenge to rise every damn day.
Practice. Every. Damn. Day.
I have a very deep committed spiritual practice, which is really the foundation for my life to flower. My roots are sewn into the soils with this practice and daily commitment. It is the anchor that allows my life to flourish and blossom. But beyond this daily practice, comes moment to moment practicing.
Practice. All. Damn. Day.
Through a committed practice we are able to carry that energy into every moment of everyday. Of course like anything, it is challenging, and it is slow process. Like the turning of winter to spring. We feel where we what to be, how we want to exist within our life, but we must slowly melt away the debris that is keeping the flowers from blooming. It takes time for our psyche to adjust to a complete conscious awareness of thought, speech, action, and being. And even as I write this, I bow in humbleness as we will never be FULLY conscious, because we always have the potential to go deeper. There is never a destination of completion upon this path. But there are stages of devotion we receive that allows more gravity to root our being so that we may surf and explore more beauty and teachings.
We have a gift from this life. Well many gifts, but the one I am really speaking of today is the gift of GROWTH. Our life is our garden. It is a sacred space that is tender, delicate, powerful, and nourishing. We are both the seeds planted in our soils, and the water that feeds them. We are the light that shines upon our own sprout, and the nutrients that nourish the ground. We are the colour within every flower, the sweetness of our fruits, and beauty that blossoms in the morning sun. We are wild, we are sensual, we are a powerful manifestation of the depth of LIFE. Our life is a reflection of how we feed ourSelf.
When was the last time you really tended your garden?
Have you placed your hands in the soil of your soul to feel what minerals you may need?
Is your soil in need of the moisture of your tears, your grief, your praise, your emotion?
Are there weeds within your mind that are over taking the tiny sprouts of your divinity?
How about the flowers that are blooming, do they need more light?
More compassionate attention and affection?
Do you grace your flowers with gentle curiosity?
Or are you pressuring them to bloom and fruit before they are ready?
Is your fruit harvested with gratitude and appreciation for its long journey?
Are your fruits sweet and supple?
Or are they bitter and hard?
Do you make an offering to the Earth beneath you that holds you while you grow?
Are you afraid to let go of your beauty when it comes time to release?
Can you allow the light from your heights drip back down into your roots?
Can you return to the darkness with surrender and trust?
This path is a never ending maze of flowers and fruits. Of sweetness and bitterness. Of growth and dying. This path is a constant opportunity to rise in love and practice deeper surrender. We have the moment every day when we wake up to choose how we want to feel. We may not have the choice of what feeling arise, but we have the choice to choose how we react to each emotion. We have the blessings to witness our thoughts, and allow them to simply be leaves floating on down the river. We have the blessing to take compassionate action, rooted in love, rooted in light. We have the blessing to choose how to communicate to ourselves and to others. We have the blessing of tending our garden. How do you want your sacred space to look like? What flowers are you nurturing? What fruits are you budding from your labor? What does the soil that lies at your foundation look and feel like.
It is an every day commitment to growing, to practicing, to being, to loving. May you allow yourself to explore how magnificent your life can be. You are loved.
